The Development of Attendance Monitoring is built on cutting edge modern technology and designed to help school management and parents or guardians to deal with problems of absenteeism and security for Dr. Yanga’s Colleges, Inc. High School student. The main purpose of the study was to develop a Biometric Based Attendance Monitoring system equipped with SMS Technology for the said institution that can greatly help the parents and school management in giving a secured way of managing student’s attendance. The proponents believed that having the attendance monitoring system helped the institution to deal with the advancement of technology.
The proponents used the Descriptive Research Method to gather information. The study focuses on the methods and steps that the researcher used to come up with the proper materials necessity to establish the problem and formulate its solution. The proponents used questionnaire to collect fast data and compare them. And gather information through observation to see the actual process on how the institutions manage the attendance monitoring of their students.
The results of the study were that the biometric based attendance monitoring system equipped with SMS technology provided the parents are secured that their children really attend the school at the right time because biometric scanner cannot be manipulated by anyone and the SMS notification will surely help them at ease with their children’s security.
It can be concluded that a reliable, secure, fast and an efficient system has been developed replacing a manual and unreliable system. This system can be implemented in academic institutes for better results regarding the management of attendance. This system will save time, reduce the amount of work the administration has to do and will replace the stationery material with electronic apparatus.
