ABSTRACT
The study “Measures Utilized by Staff Nurses in the Prevention
socomial Infection at Selected Hospital in Bulacan” identified the Preventive measures used by the staff nurses at Rogaciano M. Mercado Memorial Hospital in the prevention and control of rosocomial infection and to what extent it is utilized. It also described e profile of the staff nurses in age and number of years as a registered nurse and recognized their relationship to the preventive measures used. In this research, the researchers used the convenience method by providing questionnaires to 15 readily available staff nurses out of the 40 presently working staff nurses in the institution. Out of the 15 staff nurses, most of the respondents where 31 — 35 years old and have at least 6 — 10 years experience as a registered nurse. Hand hygiene as preventive measures proved to be the number one measure as the staff nurses always utilize it. Using the analysis of variance method, the profile of the staff nurses in age and number of years as a registered nurse were proven to have a significant relationship with the measures the staff nurses utilize and to what extent in the prevention of nosocomial infection.
