Abstract
The study conducted by researchers aimed to assess the Emotional Intelligence of Registered nurses towards quality management in the selected hospitals in Bulacan. This study will assist the staff nurses to identify the emotions of oneself and others and they should develop skills to assess patients responses to the illness. The descriptive method was utilized in order to obtain the best possible result of the study . The researchers through the use of questionnaire in order to obtain the best possible result of the study. The researchers used a survey form of questionnaire that was disseminated to 40 registered nurses specifically ward nurses of different ages and gender. The survey was distributed convenience sampling in four different hospitals in bulacan namely Dr. Yanga's Colleges Inc.,bulacan medical center,sacred heart hospital and rogaciano m. mercado memorial hospital in order to come up to the data needed by the researchers. The nurses with average emotional intelligence display high self-awareness,self-management, social awareness and relationship management they are emphatetic,adaptable and they are more likely to deliver effective quality care to their patients. This study was carried to evaluate the level of nursing care rendered by the staff nurses to their patients. This reveals that majority of the respondents often evaluate the response of the [patient after giving any medical treatment or process , they always establish good relationship with their patients, respect to their patients and professional integrity, they often identify subjective and objective problems of the patient, they always often give information (expected outcome,benefits to be gained,etc.)about treatment procedures such as their parents medications(side-effect, etc)and they always give their patients medication on time. The least were how often the nurses introduce themselves to patient, giving emotional and spiritual support,and their honesty of the staff nurses to their patients. As well as to determine the degree of correlation between emotional intelligence of staff nurses and the level of nursing care rendered. This study revealed that there is indeed a significant positive relationship between the Emotional intelligence of the respondents and level of nursing care as perceived by their patients.Pearson r coefficient between level of emotional intelligence of the respondents and level of nursing care as perceived by the patients.r=1.00 this value indicates a very high positive correlation between level of emotional intelligence of the respondents and level of nursing care as perceived by their patients. T= 38.00 this value indicate to reject null hypothesis since 38.00 is greater than 2.02 and accept alternative hypothesis hence the obtained relationship is significant at the 0.0 level. This results exists a real correlation between the respondents emotional intelligence and level of nursing care they rendered to patients. The significant of the variables were thast Emotional intelligence increased the quality management to patients also increased. These findings were in agreement that most of respondents are highly qualified to do the role of rendering quality of care as shown by very satisfactory rating in level of nursing care.
