Abstract
Postpartum practices begin immediately after a woman gives birth to a new born baby. These practices have been in existence in all parts of the world.. Specifically, placental rituals and physical activity levels, food and dietary requirements, baths and purification beliefs are among many other practices. Emphasize the practice of social support rituals These practices would be valuable to explore the potential positive or negative effects This research paper was conducted to further, explore and understand the different beliefs and practices of the postpartum women. The researcher made use of the visual ethnographic approach. This research design called for interviews obtaining photos and video recording to show how the beliefs and practices really are. Furthermore, the researchers used purposive sampling and chain snowball sampling, where res arch informants classified into 2 groups. First group are post p turn women, i.e. at least 6 weeks post delivery, residing in Bustos, Bulacan who had experienced childbirth regardless of age and panty Second group are traditional hilot at least five years experience. Data gathered were transcribe and analyzed to get the information that would describe the beliefs and practices of postpartum women and verify the fmdings of the interpreted data. Co-researchers describe the know-how and the how of each item and procedure. There are different Beliefs and Practices finding during Post-partum. These are the following 1. Pag-aangkop 2. Hygiene Related Beliefs 3. Practices Concerning Umbilical Cord 4. Practices Concerning Placenta .Based on these findings, it is therefore concluded that beliefs and practices postpartum women, psychologically help their recovery and facilitate growth and development of their children but the study does not provide guaranteed information about its effectiveness.
