Abstract
This research is about an evaluation of the clinical performance of nursing students in Dr. Yanga’s colleges Inc. The researchers had 80 nursing students and 20 clinical instructors as their respondents to complete this study. The method used in this study was the descriptive researches design a non-experimental design that involves studying a population. At the end of this study the researchers find out that there is no difference between student nurses self-rating and clinical instructors rating as regards to the current clinical performances of the student nurses in Dr. Yanga’s Colleges Inc. The researchers also found out that most of the knowledge, skills and attitudes of the students were very satisfactory, like in planning, implementing and evaluating holistic care consistent with professional values, applying principles of safety to the client and consistently demonstrating professional behavior. The recommendations of the researchers for the improvement of the clinical performance of nursing students were be able to identify the best practices towards the betterment of giving care to the patients, learn to analyze client’s health and be able to identify successful nursing strategies, promote sense of responsibility in documenting assessments, be open minded and aware of constructive criticism, observe professionalism in following the standards of nursing care and be able to know the rationale of every principle in every procedure.
