Abstract
The effects of the leakage issue among nursing licensure board passers of 2006 are the topic of the study. Both the positive and negative effects towards the board passer and in the nursing profession as a whole were emphasized. The study was created for the sole purpose of the realization of this research by identifying the main respondents perception and the effects of the leakage issue on three major aspects: employment emotional and their insights on competitiveness and hiring qualities.
The researchers chose the respondents through random selection- 60 respondents were given a set of questionnaires that comprises 15 questions of being a June 2006 passer. The questionnaire mainly evaluated the respondent's adaptation level and coping mechanism as well as the extent of the effects the leakage issue. Data gathered through the facts and information was interpreted with the use of a statistical tool which is weighted mean formula. A very great extent of the respondents strongly agree that despite theemerging issue, they must pursue their dream in practicing their profession both here in abroad even though a moderate extent of the respondents were also expresses regrets that they took the june 2006 nursing board exam and that it greatly charge the course of their nursing career. A very great extent of the responsesagree that they are still competitive enough both in local global setting and still capable in getting hired despite their losing integrity as a health care provider. Moderate extent of the subject expresses optimism and enthusiasm in working abroad despite the negative criticisms and they believe in the people's trust towards them and of their unaffected credibility in taking the future exams.
All in all, the leakage issue had caused major impact in the nursing profession both here in abroad. The said exam brough negative impact because Filipino nurses are viewed suspiciously and their professional image is tarnished. Nonetheless, the individuality of the person and his capacity that they will be hired does not depend entirely on the scam. Most of them find it hard to look for a job that fit their professional field because most medical institutions refused to trust them even though they have the ability and knowledge. Yet they are still indespensible in the medical field and is still a foundation of care as the epitome of the nursing profession.
