As you probably know, phonetic symbols are a great help when it comes to learning to pronounce English words correctly. Any time you open a dictionary, you can find the correct pronunciation of words you dont know by looking at the phonetic pronunciation that follows the word. Unfortunately, learning the phonetic alphabet is not always the easiest thing to do.
The study focuses on the significant of using phonetic alphabet as communication inside the maritime schools.
This study will involve the College of Maritime Education only.
The target respondent is 100 which constitute the subject of this study. Covering the school year 2010-2011, there were 40 respondents in BSMT, 40 respondents in BSMarE and 20 students in SRC.
As maritime students, we conclude that majority of the respondents disagree to used phonetic alphabet as their communication inside the College of Maritime Education. Thus, the respondents must familiarize the phonetic alphabet as their communication inside and outside the school.
