Abstract
As a student taking up Bachelor of Science in Marine Transportation, the
researchers aimed to know how hard to study in that academy, to know deeper how I big Philippine Merchant Marine Academy is. They want to explore the facilities, equipments, and all the historical memories the academy have. The researcher wants to feel the thrill of being a cadet in that academy. The only way to know everything on what is being asked, they gather all the information they need, conduct interview and survey in some of maritime students in PMMA.
The goal of the study is to make a documentary research about the life of Philippine Merchant Marine Academy cadets. The researcher used the descriptive method to obtain data, facts, and information from the respondents. Using this method the researcher undertakes a sampling procedure and conducted a survey among two students in PMMA. The result of the data in terms of sex shows that most of the cadets in PMMA are male. Most of the cadets in PMMA are 20 years old and above. They are the 1st class and second class cadets, while the 3’ class and the 4th class aged 18 to 19 years old. The Result of the data in terms of course, most of the students in PMMA are BSMT cadets. Education is important to them because it is the key for them to their success. The researcher’s point of view on the study they’ve done is that, it is really hard being a cadet when you enrolled in PMMA. There are many rules to be followed, there are many regulations you should do and most of all long experiencing to for your loves ones. But to be a PMMA cadet is really a great privilege and honor, much more to graduate in that academy.
