In Maritime Education, It is indeed a great help to provide a proper perspective and how to handle their duties as officers. The challenges that face by our cadets are not having the discipline and arrogance to their superiors. This will compare the institutions said to this research and may give us ideas in improving discipline to cadets.
Having discipline is indeed a good foundation of a competent officer. BMA is truly known for their well-disciplined cadets which made a gap to the discipline perform by the cadets here in DYCI College of Maritime Education.
Career opportunities for people who are well-disciplined are much more abundant than for those who are not. People who live in poorer areas of the world can easily get very high-paying jobs in the market. Discipline on one’s sell can alleviate one’s career to a more productive one. We can’t hide the facts that most of the shipping companies and opportunities for a seafarer do prefer to hire employees who obtain this kind of attitude.
Discipline aims to develop a seafarer as it aims to promote obedience, self-esteem and initiative to become competent. The purpose of the study is to establish discipline to the cadets which they will going to take it as an advantage to board a ship.
