Abstract
This study dealt with the effectiveness of return demonstration in second year nursing students of Dr. Yanga’s Colleges Inc., thru their related learning experience; an assessment. It was done by the researchers out of their awareness that return demonstration might help the students for the preparation in their related learning experience.
It utilized the descriptive method survey research design and simple random sampling method in which 60 respondents from the second year nursing students were asked to answer a questionnaire regarding their profile as well as their perception about knowledge, skill and attitude in dealing with their return demonstration. Respondents also agree to answer our questionnaire these findings clearly emphasizes the need of related learning experience to ensure that they been competent in actual clinical situation. Clinical Instructors are also asked to answer a questionnaire as a supporting tool to validate the answer of the students. The questionnaire is divided into two parts, first was the profile of the clinical instructors composed of age, gender, educational attainment, and working experience. The second part was their evaluation to the students from using the proper communication, interaction, and usage of the laboratory instrument.
Frequency distribution, percentage and weighted mean were the stools used to organized and interpret data gathered.
Second year nursing students showed outstanding performance in their attitude while skill and knowledge showed very satisfactory performance in dealing with their return demonstration. They exhibit outstanding performance in carrying their self with confidence in dealing with their return demonstration. Moreover, developing goals that
are realistic and measurable exhibit a very satisfactory performance in dealing with their return demonstration. However, students modified nursing approach to meet their goals exhibit an outstanding performance in dealing with their return demonstration.
Lastly, the study proves that return demonstration helps respondents to be able to perform what they learned in their skills laboratory to rendered a good quality of care to their clients and help them to decrease their anxiety, also return demonstration can boost their confident to perform their duties well. Return demonstration also helps the students to develop good interaction when rendering care to their clients. It also helps the student to gain more knowledge and development their verbal communication when dealing with their clinical instructors, patients and other co-workers.
