Abstract
Street foods are peddled food cart abundantly seen in many places here in the Philippines. Its gaining popularity are accounted for in determining the increase in preferences of consumers in eating street foods. The said inclination is weighed to determine which among the 3 factors namely: Socio-economics, environment and socio-cultural has the greatest influence in the increasing preference of people to street foods
This study aimed to determine the perception of respondents on the different factors and its relationship between the defnographic which affect the increase in preference of respondents in street foods.
Descriptive design was used to collect, describe, summarize and analyze data in 100 randomly selected respondents of Barangay Wawa, Balagtas, Bulacan. Using Frequency percentage and Chi2 as statistical treatment in obtaining the result
As a result, married women ranging from 25 — 31 years of age with family earning of below 20,000 pesos were the ones that consumed street foods. Soclo — economics and environmental factors influenced the respondent’s preference in eating street foods.Curiosity, as the only factor from soclo cultural wherein respondents agree that it influences their preference on eating street foods. Also, these factors are insignificantly related to the profile of respondents
Recommendations were made to further expanding the locale of this study, help promote better sanitation base on Public health nursing and for the authorities to strictly implement health sanitation rules including Street foods.
