The awareness on the different preventive measures against rabies in a community was the problem chosen by the researchers. Ignorance on the different preventive measures can cause panic to everyone. This study was conducted to help the people in the community to better understand rabies. It tackled the perceptions, beliefs and their knowledge about rabies.
The respondents of this study contribute the people of Brgy. lbayo, Marilao, Bulacan. The researchers asked questions that would somehow assess the respondents on their perception and to evaluate them on their understanding on rabies. The researchers also asked their different ways or practices on treating rabies and the first thing that they will do if they are bitten by an animal. These questions helped us to test their level of awareness on rabies.
Using the chi-square test, the researchers had proven that there is no significant relationship between the respondents’ profile an their level of awareness about the different preventive measures against rabies. But on the other hand, some of them were not knowledgeable enough on rabies. Therefore, the researchers recommend that there is a need for the improvement of the health programs about rabies prevention on the said barangay in order for the people to become more aware about rabies and also to have a Rabies FreeZone Community.
