Abstract
The researchers aimed to identify the biological, psychological and socio-cultural factors affecting the method of breast self-examination and testicular self-examination among men and women of barangay Wakas, Bocaue, Bulacan, and Bundukan Bocaue, Bulacan.
The chosen rsondents of this study were fifty (50) men and fifty (50) women aged 20-60 years old and above, residing at bundukan, Bocaue, Bulacan and Wakas, Bocaue, Bulacan. The researcher prepared questionnaires that assessed the awareness of the respondents in performing breast cancer and testicular cancer.
The research designs utilized by the researchers were descriptive non- experimental type of query which made use of simple random, sampling technique. The respondents were given a set of questionnaires which they answerçd. The research of findings revealed that majority of the respondents understood the importance of performing breast self-examination in preventing breast cancer in terms of biological factors with a weighted mean of 3.22, they were rare aware of the best-time to perform breast self-examination. Psychological factors revealed that the respondents were always aware that a weighted mean of 4.02 who represented the respondents believed that breast cancer could affect thoughts and moods. Respondents were also highly aware that eating a balanced diet contributed to decrease risk factors of getting breast cancer. Testicular self-examination in preventing testicular cancer, between with a weighted means of 3.72, shows that the respondents were an aware that testicular cancer. The psychological factors with a weighted mean of 4.12, aware of the testicular cancer cdu1d affect thought and mood. Respondents were also highly aware that eating a balance diet contributed to decrease risk of getting testicular cancer.
From this finding, several conclusions and recommendation were drawn. This aimed to benefit in a whole community.
