Abstract
Security is essential to ensure the safety of assets in a company in order to be
more competitive in the business world by keeping it up-to-date to present and available technologies. This study is therefore aimed to develop a Radio equency Identification Device (RFID) security system (software), the Room Access Control System (RACS) using Radio-Frequency Identification, which only grants access to authorized personnel and provide helpful reports for future eference.
The RAGS was evaluated by 30 employees who were satisfied with the security features, interface, efficiency and the functionality of the system. It prevents unauthorized access, logs and notifies the administrator unauthorized attempts, entering a secured area and monitors the personnel entering the vicinity within a specific time period. The system also helps the administrator and the human resources department to contact each other by the use of the messaging tool. It also provides a list of authorized cards, logs of the employees and all the unauthorized access attempts to be viewed by the administrator.
Room Access Control System was able to prevent the entry of unauthorized personnel to a facility through the use of the device. Therefore, RAGS with RFID help to eliminate security risks such as theft.
