Abstract
Food plays a very important role in preserving an individual's health and also protecting from various diseases.Right nutrition can work wonders for a person's health while wrong nutritional plan can cause serious havoc for a person's physical well being. Balanced diet is basically eating in moderation or eating in a fixed pattern which facilitates the optimum use of the food consumed and helps a person stay fit and healthy. One of the features of a diet which is highly popular is that a lot of people used balanced diet as a means to lose weight .one thing which is to be understood is that the best results are got from dieting when an individual does not starve himself but keeps a check on what he eats and eats in moderation. balanced diet enables us to obtail all essential nutrients present in wide range of foods.it should provide the required vitamins and minerals for increased energy levels.if the diet is balanced then it leads to optimum health and vitality,increased energy levels for physical activity. optimum health means less illness and health complications.This study is descriptive method research . Purposive sampling technique was used .Orem's Self CARE Deficit was used as a framework to guide the design of the study .by means of survey,to measure demographic profile and the benefits and efficacy of well balanced diet in different age groupwhose age is above 16 yrs old were administered to 30 respondents in God's Grace Community Church.The survey is composed of dietary meal,food frequency,health present history and weight control maagement according to their scores,subscales score,percentage and combined data measuring efficacy of well balanced diet of individual. The results of the study shows that most of the respondents about 60% are female and most age group that contribute,50% are 16-25 years old .The overall scores in their food frequency are 56% with level of "Fair" while in health present history,83.33% are in "Good" conditon and the most and the highest disease or condition dealing with is high blood with a percent of 26.66%.in the efficacy of well balanced diet in weight control management,overall total weighted mean is 3.07,standard deviation of 1.1551 and chi square test of 2.9122 results is "Fair" level. Last the efficacy of a well balanced diet in overall outcome with a level of "fair" and weighted mean of 2.70,standard deviation of 1.5143 which the computed x^2 value is 1.5278 is lesser than the critical value is 7.815,at a=0.05with df=3 are sadi to be accepted.Therefore there is no significant relationship between efficacy of a well balanced diet in disease prevention and weight control management as well as in different age group whose age is above 16 yrs old . Results or findings may be used to improve ,develop programs and implement interventions and evaluation regarding to effective dietary plan and lifestyle modification. It is important to impart knowledge and to develop a diet taking into consideratrions the basic tenets of good nutrition and nutritional consideration for different groups such as gender ,age,state of health,and weight management. Also the benefits of healthy eating as it relates to wellness versus ill-health and lifestyle diseases.part of this study is to increase awareness of the importance of a good diet in maintaining health and resisting disease and lastly to encourage and improve the quality of a well balanced diet in their daily living,
