Abstract
This thesis examines the perception of tourism students towards their professions in the tourism industry. The study conducted at different colleges and universities around Bulacan and 100 respondents from 4th year students are the participants. Based on the gathered data, the researcher concluded that airline industry is the most preferred and wanted caree of the tourism student.
The researcher therefor concluded that most of the tourism students respondents are interested to work overseas and its find out that the environment is the main factor that effects the students career related decisions on why they choose tourism at their professions. The study also find out that their respective schools provide enough knowledge and facilities designated in their course and most of the respondents are aware of the benefits and perks that they will receive once they work in the tourism industry. Most of the respondents are willing to work in other industries particularly hotel industry.
The the recommendation , first, the students must have seminars and trainings regarding tourism career relating to their studies for continuous updates and knowledge in their chosen field. Second, the government should promote tourism as a graduate career. They should also promote career opportunities to student in tourism program. Third, colleges and universities must expose students on their future jobs, thus, enhance their personality to be a competent skilled graduate . Finally, colleges and universities must require students to join in any competition relating to their studies thus, it will help them to boost their self confidence that they will be needed once they work in the tourism industry.
