Abstract
This undergraduate thesis,"Trauma experienced by Mothers who underwent Ceasarian section and vaginal delivery:A comparative study," was conducted to compare the trauma between caesarean section delivery and normal vaginal delivery thaqt was experienced by the subject.the researchers conducted this study so that interventions could be applied in case we encounter patients experiencing birth trauma. As nurses it was our duty to help and lessen the burden of our patients, to furthur understand the data drawn from this study in the OB ward of Ospital ng Lungsod ng San Jose Del Monte. The subjects of the study included 30 postpartum CS delivered patients and 30 NSVD patients. The researchers made use of questionnaire as the main tool for the research study. The researchers conducted a survey and they explained to the respondents how they will answer the survey questions. The statistical technique that was used for the treatment of data was the frequency,percentage and t-test.the study concludes that there was a significant differences between the trauma experienced by the caesariuan section delivered mothers and normal vaginal delivered mothers in terms of physical/physiological and psychological response. For this study, the researchers recommends that the pregnant women and non pregnant women should seek pre natal and post natal consultation in order to hasten the degree of trauma experience after birth. To the nursing service to have more specified and wider scope in terms of traumatic birth assessment and establishment of effective nurse relationship. To the students and clinical instructors to further encourage learning on their patients. To the community to foster effective promotion of health and management of illness. Lastly, to the nursing research to have a initiative for further development of studies regarding traumatic experiences encountered by postpartum mothers.
